Language

The inhabitants of Ghent and East Flanders are hospitable people who speak Dutch, but most of them can also help you in English or French or German, and are even reasonably familiar with other world languages.
Belgium has three official languages: Dutch, French and German.
In comparison with other European countries where more than one national language is spoken, many Belgians speak two or even three of these official languages.
